Who doesn’t dream of a career as a football player? The young women from NFA Girls Centre in Windhoek certainly do. Playing sports is not only good for you, it also boosts personal confidence. But unfortunately not everyone is going to be the next Messi, therefore alongside the football and as part of the TUI Academy Programme, the TUI Care Foundation is helping these young women to also build a career in tourism.
SCORING GOALS IN TOURISM
PROJECT PARTNER
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH implements the programme ‘Sport for development’ in Namibia on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The ‘Sport for development’ initiative aims to establish sport as an instrument for achieving development goals such as education and health promotion. The hospitality training for young women at the NFA Girls Centre supported by TUI Care Foundation and the Sustainability Initiative Futouris sit under that ‘Sport for Development’ umbrella. The Silver Spoon Hospitality Academy is the local partner delivering the training.
