Through the TUI Care Foundation’s Changemakers Network, TUI employees share their expertise with tourism entrepreneurs who are shaping a more sustainable future for travel. Today, the network brings together 250 employees from across the TUI ecosystem and has already supported nearly 300 mentorships.
One of these connections was made recently by Ekbel Mani, Commercial Development Team Lead at TUI Musement in Tunisia, Morocco, and Turkey. She worked with Astungkara Way, TUI Care Foundation’s TUI Futureshapers Global project partner in Bali. The organisation is dedicated to regenerative agriculture, cultural preservation, and creating immersive travel experiences.
Over the course of the mentorship, Ekbel supported Astungkara Way with a business assessment and action plan to help refine their offers, grow distribution channels, and increase revenue.
Reflecting on the experience, Ekbel shared:
“Participating in this mentorship has been a deeply meaningful and transformative experience. As a tourism professional, collaborating with a project rooted in regenerative agriculture and cultural preservation has reinforced my belief that tourism can and should be a force for positive change. Working alongside passionate changemakers in Bali, I was inspired by their commitment to restoring not only the land but also the community’s relationship with it, through initiatives like farm-based learning, pilgrimage trails, and immersive culinary experiences. Helping the team define their market, refine their offerings, and prepare for international outreach has deepened my own understanding of how tourism can empower youth, uplift female voices, and revitalise local ecosystems. It’s a privilege to contribute to shaping a tourism model that respects culture, revives nature, and resonates with the next generation of travellers.”
Ekbel’s journey with Astungkara Way shows how mentoring can be a catalyst for growth: for entrepreneurs, their communities and for the mentors themselves.
