TUI Elephant Aid - Building an elephant friendly future in Thailand

Over 4000 elephants in Thailand live in captivity. Activities such as elephant rides and shows are stressful for the animals and harm their well-being. Elephants in these unnatural settings have typically suffered a traumatic training.

Working hand in hand with animal experts, committed local venues and other stakeholders TUI Care Foundation is now, in partnership with World Animal Protection, supporting an initiative to foster demand from the tourism industry for elephant-friendly venues.

The project also provides resources to help already existing elephant venues to transition to high animal welfare standards. Here visitors can experience elephants in a natural setting without direct interaction with them.
