In-School Mentoring to Increase Inclusion and Employability

TUI Care Foundation and Mentor International launched a mentoring program to empower more than 800 young people from vulnerable communities in Jordan, Germany and Sweden. The program is set up by Mentor’s national operations and will be rolled out under the TUI Junior Academy umbrella.

The initiative will provide training on the soft skills needed for personal development, to complement the school curriculum. The mentoring program will be offered in schools where students (13-17 years old) come from socially vulnerable areas, and where school performance indexes are often lower than national averages.

Workshops designed to strengthen self-esteem, social inclusion and parental involvement will support the development of young people, aiming to reduce isolation, improve school results, strengthen school-to-work transition and motivate and support young people’s ability to thrive in life. Improving the life chances of young people and empowering them to reach their full potential is core to TUI Care Foundation’s work in the educational field.

Mentor and TUI Care Foundation will recruit approximately 100 volunteers from the local community, including employees from across TUI Group, to be engaged in inspirational and motivational workshops.

The mentoring initiative ran from autumn 2019 to summer 2020.
