The TUI Care Foundation was recently recognised at WTM Africa fair with two Responsible Tourism Awards for its work in the continent.
The Destination Zero Waste programme, in partnership with CHAKO Zanzibar, has won a Silver Award in the Waste Management category. This category recognises proven practical examples of how the tourism sector can reduce waste, particularly where it can be used to create value in the community, providing use or commercial value.
The TUI Futureshapers Namibia programme, in partnership with LEFA Mobility, has won a One to Watch Award in the Local Sourcing category. This award recognises businesses that have local purchasing practices in place, and are actively working to create and promote local businesses and sole traders, encouraging visitors to buy locally produced goods.
Thank you to Pieter Jordaan, Chief Information Officer at TUI Group, who picked up the awards in Cape Town on behalf of the TUI Care Foundation.
Thanks also to our incredible partners for joint efforts in driving real impact for a better future.
