Four innovative, entrepreneurial businesses in Uganda and Mauritius have been selected to participate in an intensive online acceleration programme. Alongside a network of tourism professionals, local and international mentors will advise the entrepreneurs and their teams throughout the acceleration process.
About Travel Tech for Good East Africa Bootcamp
The Travel Tech 4 Good Accelerator is a joint initiative by the TUI Care Foundation and enpact e.V. Designed for travel and tourism startups focusing on social impact and sustainable development, it offers a three month coaching course for entrepreneurs. Local and international mentors will be onboard to refine business models, research potential investors and clients and bring pitches to the next level. The aim of the programme is to build business skills and empower entrepreneurs to access the support services and know-how to give their startups the boost they need to succeed. The accelerator is also supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The four startups from Uganda and Mauritius who’ve been selected to participate in the intensive online bootcamp will receive holistic support to help all areas of their business. Combined with financial backing, expert workshops and dedicated mentoring will help them analyse their business needs and look at how they can grow their businesses in the current environment. As well as offering training and guidance, the mentors will also help the startups to widen their network to include other entrepreneurs, investors and business partners. Specialised experts from the TUI Group will also come on board as mentors to help with sales, communications, UX design, strategic planning, business development and data science.
The programme will end with a Pitch Event, which will be featured on TUI and enpact's online channels. The startup with the best pitch will win access to more pitching opportunities through TUI's channels and, importantly, access to East African and international networks of experts and supporters. The virtual bootcamp takes place between 8th - 18th December 2020.
