Turtle Tracking
Every year, ARCHELON’s Sea Turtle Rescue Centre cares for around 70 injured or sick sea turtles, many of which have been traumatised by boat collisions or other human activities. Triton, one of the youngest patients, has now returned to the sea with a new mission after receiving comprehensive care and rehabilitation: to help improve scientific understanding of sea turtle migrations and their habitats. Triton is the first sea turtle rehabilitated in Greece to be monitored in real time using satellite telemetry.

The TUI Care Foundation’s initiatives are aimed at projects and activities by organisations that fit in with the foundation’s strategic focus and have a positive impact on communities or the environment in tourist destinations worldwide. In this way, the initiatives contribute to the sustainable development of communities and the protection of the environment and species in destination areas. Non-profit organisations or social enterprises can submit their applications.
Please note that the TUI Care Foundation is currently not accepting project applications. Submissions will reopen in spring 2026.
Tourism for Development Fund
The Tourism for Development Fund is a collaboration between the TUI Care Foundation and UN Tourism which puts LDCs at the heart of sustainable tourism development. The Fund leverages the power of tourism to drive social, ecological and economical development to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Helping Hands Fund
The TUI Care Foundation’s Helping Hands Fund targets projects and activities of organisations that fit the Foundation’s strategic framework and create positive impact for the communities or the environment in tourism destinations worldwide.
Storytelling Theatre
The programme empowers artists and artisans to professionalise, gain access to new markets and promote authentic local arts and culture. From traditional dance to local visual arts, handicraft, or theatre performances, it creates new opportunities through tourism for creatives in destinations.

Forests Programme
The TUI Forests programme puts forests at the centre of thriving communities and destinations. The programme plants new trees and supports local people to build thriving livelihoods through activities like community managed tree nurseries and the creation of forest-based tourism experiences.
